A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Svetlana Borisova was born in Neksikane, north Siberia, on the border with the Kamchatka peninsula, where her father surveyed the local geology for important mineral resources.

The house in which she was born stood on the confluence of 3 rivers, a land full of contrasts in which only the strong survive. At the age of 17 months she was almost abducted by an eagle, only to be saved by her siberian baby-sitter dog.

These places are characterised by a very long winter, followed by  in fast succession by spring and  summer. A land in which mother nature has a very strong and visible presence, a land whose colors undergo fast, drastic and turbulent changes.

It's in this context that the artist's nature and strong character was forged: a generous mother, an impetuous stream of siberian vitality, a formidable resource of energy and inventiveness.

As a young girl, Svetlana moved to Moscow with her family in order to complete her studies and become a physical rehabilitation specialist.

After that she met and fell in love with an italian boy, eventually causing her to move to Rome, Italy, where she now resides with her husband Enrico and her son Cesare.

Fish Cloud

Infinity enclosed in a vortex of color.

 

Today we enter the poetic world of #SvetlanaBorisova (@svetlanaborisova2814). Born in the heart of Siberia, Svetlana brings the strength of boundless spaces and a rare resilience to art.

In "Cloud of Fish" (Oil on canvas, 25x25 cm, 2026), deep blue becomes pulsating matter. Through the skilful use of pigments mixed with oil, Svetlana paints not only water, but the breath of Mother Nature. The silvery "cloud" of fish floating in cobalt is a hymn to freedom and protection, a play of light and stratification that transforms a small-format canvas into an ocean without borders.

Red Victoria

We are our traditions that make the roots of our soul grow.
The deeper they go, the higher we can fly on the wings of our spirit.
In painting the work 'Victoria Rossa' I was inspired by the path of the ancestors of the Ferrari family.
I started from the vision of the simple desk of a very wealthy man that I admired in the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.
This contemplation of simplicity made me understand the greatness of the Spirit of Man and stimulated me to study the beginnings of the family, recounting it in my painting.

In the history of the Ferrari family, the 'key to a vintage car' symbolizes their remote past, the roots born in a simple mechanical workshop.
The 'red thread' represents Ariadne's thread that took her through the labyrinth (life) to salvation and then to rebirth in the new dimension of life.
The feminine principle, which is always present in every manifestation of life, is represented by a 'white figure' that symbolizes the purity of the spirit.
The 'red mantle' represents the divine will.
The 'fire' symbolizes the ignition of the engines.
The black 'prancing horse' is the symbol of the Ferrari and is presented on the arrival at the 'Victoria' (from Latin) and then at the 'Triumph' represented by the Yellow Sun.

ARTISTIC EVOLUTION

After a lifetime spent in close contact with people researching physical and spiritual well-being, Svetlana began to feel an ever-growing series of strong, creative impulses which eventually launched her into a new, artistic dimension.

During her first artistic phase,  Svetlana preferred medium was colored chalk drawings. She then moved on to the use of oil paints on canvas, which to this day are her prevalent form of expression.

The most striking aspects of Svetlana's art are characterised by the use of a lively color palette and the artist's capacity to find fascinating and dazzling combinations, applied to a wide variety of strongly symbolic subjects which are concerned with the journey of the inner being to the outer world. It's through these elements that the artist's very soul shines.
